Kitchen Upgrades Worth the Investment
As you build your dream home, a stream of details and decisions will begin to come across your desk. From the home’s layout to the colors of your kitchen tiles, these details can often seem overwhelming. We work to make this process as streamlined and easy-to-understand as possible for our clients. With almost 30 years of building experience in the Oklahoma City metro, here are a few key kitchen upgrades we believe are worth the investment.
Higher-End Kitchen Cabinets
The kitchen is the heart of the home and you want this space to be durable, functional and timeless. We recommend extra-tall upper cabinets that reach the ceiling for additional storage. Additionally, we prefer using premium hinges and drawer slides.
Gone are the days of low ceilings and dark rooms without any natural lighting. We recommend raising your ceilings to a minimum of nine feet throughout your entire house. In addition to adequate natural lighting, this will help your home feel open and welcoming.
When planning your home, the pantry is an often-overlooked feature. However, this space offers premier options for storage and functionality. For a walk-in pantry, install shelving large enough for your kitchen appliances and complete the area with electrical outlets. This space will allow you to store and use your blender, mixer and other appliances without having to drag them in and out of the kitchen.
Another item you should consider adding to your kitchen is an over-sized island. An island will allow your family space to prepare and serve food, spread out projects and so much more without ever leaving the heart of the home. Our favorite kitchen islands include under-counter microwaves, built-in trash can drawers, and extra under-cabinet storage.
These are just a few examples of kitchen upgrades that will take your kitchen from lovely to knock-out gorgeous. To view a few of the many kitchens we have created in Oklahoma, see our photos page.
